ICML MLT I, MLT II Certification Preparation Program

Global Delivery

Most lubrication failures do not occur because people lack information.

They occur because fundamental practices are applied inconsistently, incorrectly, or without a clear understanding of how the system actually behaves.

Grease is applied without regard to volume or frequency.
Contamination enters systems that were assumed to be sealed.
Sampling is performed in a way that produces data, but not insight.

Over time, these small deviations accumulate until the system degrades, and by the time failure becomes visible, the damage has already been done.

The ICML Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT I, II) Certification Preparation Program is designed to address that reality.

This is not a course built around memorization.
It is a structured program focused on developing the practical understanding required to execute lubrication tasks correctly, consistently, and with purpose.

Global Delivery Model

To support participation across regions without compromising engagement, the program is delivered using a dual-hemisphere format.

Each day is conducted twice:

  • A Western Hemisphere session aligned to the Americas
  • An Eastern Hemisphere session aligned to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia

Both sessions follow the same structure, content, and instructional approach. Participants attend the session that best aligns with their schedule, while recorded sessions are made available within hours for reinforcement and review.

This creates a continuous global learning environment where participants can engage, revisit material, and strengthen understanding beyond a single session.

Program Structure

The course is delivered over four intensive days, with each day building toward a complete understanding of lubrication practice, execution, and system interaction.

Day 1 – Principles and Foundations
The program begins with the core principles of lubrication, including friction, wear mechanisms, lubricant types, and contamination control. Participants develop a clear understanding of why lubrication matters and how improper practices lead to degradation.

Day 2 – Components and Applications
Focus shifts to how lubrication is applied across real equipment. Bearings, gears, hydraulic systems, and other components are examined in the context of operating conditions, lubricant selection, and application methods. Common misapplications and their consequences are addressed directly.

Day 3 – Control and Diagnostics
Participants learn how to monitor lubrication performance and recognize early indicators of failure. Sampling practices, basic condition monitoring techniques, and interpretation of field observations are emphasized. The objective is to detect issues before they become failures.

Day 4 – Integration and Exam Readiness
The final day integrates all aspects of lubrication practice into a system-level understanding. Participants review how proper procedures, storage, handling, and application work together to maintain system health. Exam strategy and question interpretation are addressed to build confidence and readiness.

Continuous Learning System

Learning continues beyond the live sessions.

Each enrollee receives complete access to the online course platform with no expiration date. This includes structured modules, practice exams, and study tools that reinforce the material presented during the live program.

Participants can review content at their own pace, revisit key topics, and prepare for the certification exam with the ability to practice and refine their understanding over time.

Recorded sessions from each day are also provided, allowing participants to reinforce learning and revisit complex topics as needed.

Instructional Approach

The program is delivered live and instructor-led, with a focus on practical application.

Concepts are tied directly to how lubrication is performed in the field. Participants are guided through real-world scenarios, common errors, and the consequences of poor execution. The emphasis is on building discipline in lubrication practices rather than simply recognizing terminology.

This approach ensures that participants are not only prepared for the exam, but also capable of applying what they have learned immediately in their work environment.

Who Should Attend

This program is designed for professionals preparing for:

  • ICML MLT I
  • ICML MLT II

It is particularly relevant for lubrication technicians, maintenance personnel, reliability teams, and anyone responsible for executing or managing lubrication programs within industrial environments.

Outcome

By the end of the program, participants will have a structured understanding of lubrication fundamentals, improved confidence in applying best practices, and the ability to recognize and prevent common failure conditions.

They will be prepared for the ICML certification exams. More importantly, they will be prepared to perform the work correctly.

Lubrication is often treated as a routine task. In reality, it is one of the most critical controls in maintaining equipment reliability.

This program is designed to ensure it is performed that way.
