This course is designed for those responsible for daily lubrication tasks, including oil changes, top-ups, greasing bearings, lubricant receiving and proper storage and care of lubricants as well as dispensing devices. Candidates must have at least two years
education (post-secondary) or on-the-job training in one or more of the following fields: machine lubrication, engineering, mechanical maintenance and/or maintenance trades in order to take the MLT exam. Attendees taking this class will be prepared to take the MLT exam, offered by the International Council for Machinery Lubrication (ICML).
Duration – 16 course hours over 7 modules complete with reference materials and practice exams. Bi-weekly webinars will be available to review each course module live to discuss case studies as well as review exam questions.
Requirements for Certification:
ICML Machinery Lubrication Technician (MLT):
To become certified, an individual must meet the following requirements:
- Education and/or Experience – Candidates must have at least two years education (post-secondary) or on-the-job training in one or more of the following fields: machine lubrication, engineering, mechanical maintenance and/or maintenance trades.
- Training – Candidate must have received at least 16 hours of documented formal training in machinery lubrication. Training fulfills this requirement.
- Examination – Each candidate must successfully pass a written, 100 question, multiple-choice examination that evaluates the candidate’s knowledge of the topic. Candidates have three hours to complete the closed-book examination. A score of 70% is required to pass the examination and achieve certification.
